NISR appreciated for innovation and technology commitment

The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) on 5th October celebrated a momentous occasion as the institution’s Board of Directors (BoDs), its esteemed governing body, convened for their ordinary session, the institution has announced in statement.
According to the statement, this meeting, which included a tour of key NISR facilities, was marked by expressions of appreciation for NISR’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement.

“One of the focal points of this session was the approval and establishment of the Data Revolution and Big Data Unit, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at harnessing the power of data and technology for the betterment of society,” said the statement.

“Accompanied by NISR’s dedicated management team, the board members embarked on a comprehensive tour of the institution’s essential infrastructure. This tour showcased NISR’s unwavering commitment to pioneering data-driven solutions for the nation and beyond,” It added.

The highlight of the visit was the exploration of the Big Data lab, a hub of innovation and analysis where data-driven insights come to life and the board members were given an exclusive look into the cutting-edge technology and methodologies that underpin this vital resource.

“Standard training rooms were also showcased during the tour, highlighting NISR’s dedication to capacity building. These rooms serve as spaces where professionals and data enthusiasts receive training, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate the complex world of big data and data revolution,” said the statement.

The tour extended to ongoing and planned projects within the Big Data and Data Revolution Units, offering a glimpse into the future of data-driven solutions. These projects exemplify NISR’s forward-thinking approach and its commitment to staying at the forefront of data-related developments.
